My First Indesign Page

My First Indesign Page

Since this is my first indesign, there was a lot to learn about. One of the techniques we learnt about was how to use the black arrow and the white arrow. The black arrow was used to change the size of the box and to rotate the box whereas the white arrow was used to move the image inside the box.
Another technique that i learnt was how to draw a rectangle text tool and then insert the text into the rectangular boxes. The red box that is at the end of the text after it is inserted enables the text to flow when clicked on the text already there and clicked on another box that has been drawn as it carries on the text that will not fit in just one box.
A third technique that i learnt was how to create a drop cap. This is the process of making the first letter of the paragraph larger than the rest of the text. I did this by writing the text that I wanted to use in my indesign and highlighting the word that i wanted to make a a drop cap on. I then clicked on the paragraph formatting controls tab and then knocked the drop cap size up so that the first letter of the word i had written became bigger.
Another technique i used was text flow. I used Text Flow to continue my text into text boxes that i had placed next to the first text box. I did this by drawing a rectangle box with the rectangle tool and firstly drawing the box where i wanted it to go on my indesign page. I then went to file and place and found the document that i was inserting into my indesign and clicked OK. This then inserted my text into the box, however because my rectangular box was too small for the text it needed to be made to go into another box, I did this by repeating the process of drawing another 6 rectangular boxes as my text was long. I knew my text was too big for my box because a red box at the bottom of the rectangle appeared. I then dragged the red box onto my other rectangular boxes which created the text to flow from one to another.
