First Progress Review

This is my first attempt at my front cover before my image was inserted.

When creating my front cover, I downloaded fonts from www.dafonts.com which helped me decide on fonts I would be having on my front cover and inside on my DPS. On the masthead I used a size 160 bold serif font to make my masthead stand out from any of the other magazines. Serif fonts are easy to read and create a modern and youthful feel to them which will appeal to a younger generation. However, a problem with my fonts on my front cover is that there was too many of them so i had to delete a couple to make my magazine look less disorganised.

When I wrote 'Image', I used the effect stroke and drop shadow to create the effect of the word 'image' coming out of the page to help the reader recognise that this is what my story is about on my DPS inside and to also grab the readers attention when they first see the front cover. I then wrote all of my sell lines, experimenting with bold writing and font size. Most of my fonts that i used to create my sell lines 'Thonburi' and 'Arial'.

As my magazine Glamour that i was looking at had 'Britain's No1 Women's Magazine' i thought this was a good idea to portray on my magazine as well. I firstly created a rectangle with the rectangle tool to  make the rectangle fit the size of my magazine at the top from left to right. I then inserted the text to fit on top of the rectangle. Similarly for my button, i drew a circle with the ellipse tool and then inserted my text 'Only £2'.

Firstly for my DPS, I inserted a rectangle using the rectangular frame tool to the file, place, my text into the rectangular boxes. As my article was long, i had to then draw another rectangular box to then carry on my article into that box on the right above. I did this by clicking the red little box at the corner of the rectangular box that tells me my article is too long for just one box so therefore after i clicked on the red box, i then clicked again in the 2nd rectangular box to create text flow. I then made my sub headers of the different paragraphs bold to make sure they stand out and to create more of a separation of the text.
Secondly, I created my header on my first page, 'Perfect size or digital manipulation?' which I made bold and carried the colour scheme from my front over onto my DPS so therefore i made my header dark pink and my sub-headers. I made all of my text on my article 'Arial' and made my main header on the first page 'Bebas Neau', both of this fonts are Sans Serif which is an informal font which is what i aimed my DPS to be to reach out to my target audience of teenage girls.
